European shares weighed by weaker autos; Taylor Wimpey, Vodafone rise

LONDON/MILAN, May 17 (Reuters) - European shares steadied on

Tuesday with gains companies such as Taylor Wimpey and

Vodafone following encouraging updates offset by a

weaker auto sector.
