Italian banking stocks, Mediaset lift spirits in Europe

LONDON, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Italian banking shares rose in

choppy trading on Tuesday following Unicredit's latest

efforts to bolster its balance sheet punctuating an otherwise

quiet open for European stock markets.
